A parking lot at the corner of SW Fourth Avenue and SW Harrison Street in downtown Portland will be the site of a 425-unit luxury apartment building that will feature retail space on the street level.

Developer Core Spaces LLC is planning the development on the site owned by Downtown Development Group LLC, which is owned by the Goodman family of Portland.

According to OregonLive.com, Core Spaces aims to open the building in early 2018.

It will feature units that range from studio-size to three-bedroom apartments. It will have 156 parking spaces, a rooftop pool and a barbecue area complete with boccee ball courts and fire pits.

The indoor amenities will offer up a fitness center, a business center, a rooftop chef’s kitchen and lounge, a spa with massage/relaxation rooms, Pilates/yoga space, and a sauna and steam room. Core is in the early stages of designing the project and is working with neighborhood groups and the city through the zoning and land use design review process. The project is expected to be completed by early 2018.

“The development will be a blend of mid-century and modern designs, offer unmatched amenities and embrace the adjacent Montgomery and 3rd Avenue pedestrian trails and Pettygrove Park,” said [Core managing partner Marc] Lifshin.

Core’s senior vice president of development, Chad Matesi, said he hopes to attract an eclectic group of tenants: “From recent graduates and young professionals to those with families and empty-nesters,” he said in a PBJ story.
