Pacific Northwest cities dominate Amazon’s ranking of cities that buy and read the most books.

Move over flannel and ironic facial hair, there is a new Northwest stereotype in town: The region is inhabited by bookworms.
A study from Amazon.com reveals that the two major cities in the region buy and read the most books.
The finds come from the company’s Most Well-Read Cities in America.
According to the Portland Business Journal:
The company (NASDAQ: AMZN) ranks compiled its rankings by crunching sales data of all book, magazine and newspaper sales in both print and Kindle format between April 2014 and April 2015
The rankings are based on per capita sales in cities with more than 500,000 residents.
