Portland finished second-to-last of the 18 cities studied, Portland Business Journal reports.

In Portland, single workers earning that figure bring home $31,853 while those who are married net $34,212. The city ranked 16th on the list.

In Seattle, where there is no state income tax, workers netted about $35,000 to $37,000.
