“I can see it giving a substantial bump to residential demand,” wrote Portland State Urban Studies professor and historian Carl Abbott, via email. “There is certainly continuing demand for affordable … neighborhoods with infill potential.”
While Abbott isn’t persuaded that commercial or large-scale apartment development in Brooklyn will come soon, real estate agents are optimistic about the neighborhood’s potential. They think Brooklyn is poised to become Portland’s next hot neighborhood.
