City says ride-sharing company is not following rules established for taxis.

Rachelle Nicholas, the city’s compliance services supervisor, on Monday sent Uber general manager Brooke Steger in Seattle a notice of the fine.

“The city is again asking that Uber respect the current code and administrative rules in place at this time by discontinuing its unlawful operations, and instead work cooperatively with the city toward a solution that would allow Uber to operate legally within the community,” Nicholas wrote.
