The company says it’s struggling to attract attention in Rose City’s tech community.
California-based eBay made Portland its center for mobile software development four years ago, when it bought a small Oregon company called Critical Path. Its Portland site has mushroomed since, driven by the enormous growth in smartphones and tablets, and now occupies five floors of a downtown high-rise.
Portland has been able to accommodate that growth so far, said Kevin Hurst, an eBay vice president and general manager of its Oregon outpost. But with space to double, Hurst said eBay now has to do more to get noticed.
