Current building owner Carole Smith, who along with Eric Kittleson has owned the building for the past 14 years, said the Meduri family offered to buy the building to surprise their son Vincenzo Meduri, a producer and president of Enlightened Theatrics, a tenant in the building.
Cindy Meduri on Wednesday refused to comment before speaking with her husband, citing that the building sale has not yet been finalized. Smith said she and Kittleson will need to find a property of equal value to the Grand Theatre building — which they purchase for the sole purpose of renovating it — before they can officially sell the building.
