According to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, distilleries generated $53 million in sales — approximately 12% of total liquor sales in the state in 2011.

The number of distillery licenses in Oregon has more than tripled to 70, up from about 20 a decade ago, according to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission.

Dozens of distilleries have clustered in the Portland area, but producers of vodka, gin, liqueurs and other liquor are just starting to establish a presence in the Eugene area.
