The CareOregon project Food Rx educates patients on how to shop for and prepare nutritious food.

CareOregon is piloting a six-week project called Food Rx at three Portland area clinics. The theory behind it is that good health goes beyond medication.

The prescriptions are being handed to 100 patients who are food insecure or who have chronic health issues related to diet. Each $15 “prescription” comes with two refills, for a total of $45 that can be spent on organic food stuffs in My Street Grocery’s trolley.
