The state-funded drone backer gave $327,000 to five Oregon unmanned aerial systems companies.

Here’s the five companies to receive the first round of grants:

  • Paradigm isr, of Bend, is receiving $60,000 to develop a system for precision agriculture that collects and analyses pest management data of crops.
  • NW UAV, of McMinnvile, is receiving $75,000 to complete a new propulsion system for flight vehicles as part of a project with VT Group of Tigard.
  • Fordyce Design and Manufacturing, of Gaston, is receiving $14,000 to develop a standardized servo system for flight vehicle controls
  • Insitu Advanced Programs Engineering Group, of Hood River, is receiving $75,000 to develop flight navigation and communication systems to integrate manned and unmanned aircraft missions for firefighting and search and rescue.
  • Cloud Cap Technologies, of Hood River, is receiving $103,000 to integrate a next-generation transponder systems made by Washington-based Sagetech Corp., for next-generation autopilot to improve flight safety.
