Members of the Oregon Treasury’s investment arm have very high salaries as well, but there are only a handful of those employees, where there are dozens of doctors across several agencies. (Actual pay wasn’t provided for treasury employees.)
Attorneys, however, are paid relatively low compared to other highly educated, professional classes of state employees. For example, the highest paid investment officers, doctors, dentists, pharmacists, actuaries, managers and auditors all make more than the highest paid Department of Justice position.
