Salem City Council could change the Riverfront Downtown Urban Renewal plan to offer a $75,000 grant to build a rehabilitation facility.

The proposed 38,000 square-foot Pringle Square Post-Acute Rehabilitation Center would have two stories, 40 parking spaces, and the capacity for 52 beds. It would be developed by Marquis Companies, which operates 26 care facilities in the West.

The development would support about 256 jobs during construction, and 66 jobs when complete, city officials say.
