A statewide measure of economic activity shows Oregon grew faster than average.

Tim Duy, a University of Oregon economist who compiles the monthly index of economic indicators, said Oregon’s above-average pace of economic activity should continue in the coming months.

Compared to this time last year, the pace for activity for Oregon has improved I think quite a bit,” Duy said. “I think that is evident across a wide range of indicators. It still, though, has room to go further. We’re doing better, but in comparison to what might be considered normal for an Oregon recovery, we’re still a bit below that.”
