80 workers to lose jobs at Tigard automotive plant


Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. will shut down its production and warehouse by the end of the year.

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. will shut down its production and warehouse by the end of the year.

The 80 workers will receive transition support or opportunities at other CVG plants.

The Tigard workers made interior trim components such as instrument panels and storage cabinets used in large commercial vehicles. That work will go to other Commercial Vehicle plants in North America.

Commercial Vehicle had said it anticipates absorbing up to $3.5 million in restructuring charges. It could save as much as $2.5 million by closing the Tigard plant.
