The federal government will examine how the federal dollars were spent building the state’s online health care exchange.

“We will do so as part of a broader look at state exchanges,”Government Accountability Office spokesman Chuck Young said. “The exact scope of what we will cover and the time frames will be determined as the work goes forward.”

Cover Oregon launched Oct. 1 without a fully functioning website. Oregonians have been signing up for insurance using a hybrid paper and online enrollment process, and it’s unclear whether the website will work as intended before open enrollment closes March 31.
