Oregon job market up since January ’13

The state’s unemployment rate was 1.3 percentage points higher at the beginning of the year.

“The job growth in the second half of the year was stronger than we originally thought,” said Nick Beleiciks, a state employment economist.

The state has gained about three-quarters of the jobs lost in the last recession, Beleiciks said. And job market statistics show the recovery is moving in the right direction, he said.
