Oregon’s largest school district and the Portland Association of Teachers reached a “conceptual agreement.”
The district and the union worked to to avert a Thursday walkout by 2,900 teachers.
“After 10 months of difficult negotiations and hard work by both sides I am very pleased that PPS and PAT have reached a conceptual agreement,” said Carole Smith, the district’s superintendent, in a news release. “I look forward to finalizing the tentative agreement later today.”
