Oregon lawmakers rejected another bill to build a bridge across the Columbia River.
A two-state proposal to build the Columbia River Crossing passed Oregon’s Legislature in 2013 as a $3.4 billion project to reconfigure Interstate 5 between Portland and Vancouver, replace the I-5 bridge and extend Portland’s Tri-Met light-rail system into downtown Vancouver.
Oregon lawmakers approved the sale of $450 million in bonds last March, but Washington’s Legislature voted against providing its matching money.
