Many Oregonians will not have subsidized health-insurance coverage by Jan. 1 because their applications were deemed incomplete by Cover Oregon.

“There are people who applied by Dec. 4 but whose applications were incomplete,” said Michael Cox, spokesman for Cover Oregon. “That’s, to be frank, one of the reasons we’re saying if  you didn’t hear from us (Monday) go look at another plan. It’s entirely possible that if you don’t hear from us, your application was incomplete.”

The state’s health insurance exchange, choked by technological breakdowns and processing delays, has determined more than 45,600 individuals eligible for private commercial insurance plans, Cox said late Monday. It’s also found 23,000 eligible for the Oregon Health Plan.
