“It’s not true that because there are fewer flights, airfares are going to go up,” said Richard Gritta, a professor at the Pamplin School of Business at the University of Portland and an authority on aviation economics.
“It depends on the number of competitors in the market. We still have a lot of competition in this market — and that is what determines airfares.”
