The popular herd of goats in Southeast Portland is looking for a new site that’s publicly accessible.
The herd currently inhabits the former Monte Carlo restaurant spot at Southeast Belmont between 10th and 11th avenues. The site’s owner — the caretakers call the plot “Goat Field” — plans to develop the huge lot and needs the herd to leave by Jan. 1.
The herd’s caretakers will take the goats to “an undisclosed location” on a privately owned spot for four to six months as it seeks a new home, preferably with easy public access, for a year or two.
