The Mount Hood National Forest begins selling Christmas tree cutting permits for $5 on Nov. 15.
When purchasing a permit an accompanying information sheet will explain rules of cutting Christmas trees from the national forest. The permit allows cutting a tree up to 12 feet tall. Permits for taller trees may be obtained from Forest Service district offices for an additional cost.
