A survey of technology leaders shows that many of Oregon’s tech companies plan to increase hiring over the next year, but still struggle to find talent.

The survey was conducted in September by the Technology Councils of North America, which includes the Technology Association of Oregon.

Though tech is a relatively small part of Oregon’s economy — the industry employs fewer than 90,000 statewide — it’s adding jobs nearly twice as fast as the state as a whole. Tech jobs pay an average annual wage of $94,000, which is more than double the state average.
