Jumping on a national trend, Fred Meyer’s new location in Wilsonville will be the first of its outlets to include a significant on-site housing component.

The new 145,000-square-foot store is set to open in July 2011. Fred Meyer will sell development rights to an additional 100,000 square feet of space for retail and housing.

Development of the 17.8-acre property will also set another Fred Meyer record — at 18 years, it will establish by far the longest interval between purchase of a site and completion of a store.
