The Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments won more than $1.7 million in federal funding as part of the Make it America Challenge.
“The main push is to try to assist with job growth opportunities in advanced manufacturing,” said Suzanne Dufner, community development director with the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments. “We’re very excited and looking forward to getting started.”
Local economic development officials have targeted several industries: food and beverage products; agriculture related manufacturing; machinery and equipment; wood products; and specialty materials.
