Oregon’s biggest banks got bigger over the past year in the wake of mergers.

The top three – U.S. Bank, Bank of America and Wells Fargo – all increased their market share through the year ending June 30, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. data. Combined, the three banks hold 52 percent of all deposits in Oregon, up from 44 percent as of June 2012.

U.S. Bank remained at the top with $12 billion in deposits, leaving Wells Fargo Bank a distant second with $9.4 billion. Bank of America had $9 billion, despite closing four branches.
