Compared to summer 2012, weekday bus ridership was down 3.5 percent to about 181,000 per day, and MAX ridership was down 7.4 percent to about 123,100 rides per weekday.
What’s more, the decline has steadily worsened in recent months. Last fall, for example, TriMet experienced a 1.1 percent decline, when compared to ridership numbers from the same period in 2011.
