Unemployment is vastly different in Oregon counties, ranging from 6.1% in Benton to 12.6% in Harney and Crook counties.

Oregon lost 147,700 jobs in the Great Recession that began five years ago, and many pockets of the state are still reeling from the downturn.

A dozen counties face unemployment rates at or above 10 percent, a mark well above the statewide average of 8.1 percent. About 150,000 Oregonians were out of work last month.
