What motivates you to come to work every day?
I was bitten by the commercial real estate bug over 27 years ago. I have looked forward to coming into work and solving people’s real estate problems and desires from very early on. I am also very privileged to work with fantastic people.

Where would you like to see the company in five years?
As the “go-to” full-service firm in Portland and Southwest Washington where brokerage and management clients, brokers and employees all want to be. We would like to potentially expand into other markets through acquisition or strategic alliance when the timing is right.

Business role model
My uncle and my older brother, a successful superior court judge and attorney, respectively, as my father died when I was young. Additionally, I have been very fortunate to have many outstanding mentors in my career, including Harold and Jordan Schnitzer, Ed Borst, Roger Joseph, William R. Wood, Jon E. Kasteler and Bob Stutte. They all taught me the traits of being a successful professional in our challenging industry.

What I’m reading
Brokers Who Dominate by Rod Santomassimo. It is a collection of stories from interviews with top commercial real estate brokers from across the United States and the traits that make them successful.
