Pacific University's College of Health Professions recently began accepting applications for its new gerontology certificate program.
The Graduate Certificate Program in Gerontology is the University's first online-only curriculum, and allows professionals to continue working while studying.
Designed by Katie Farrell, associate professor of physical therapy, and Linda Hunt, associate professor of occupational therapy, the program is aimed at licensed healthcare professionals who serve older adults.
Impetus for the new program is due to the rapidly increasing number of older Americans, Hunt said.
