Stumptown Coffee opened their first California cafe in downtown Los Angeles. It is the Portland-based chain’s tenth retail location.

Stumptown Coffee opened their first California cafe in downtown Los Angeles. It is the Portland-based chain’s tenth retail location.

The Los Angeles location has a tricked out La Marzocco espresso machine and a 60-kilo Probat roaster. Stumptown Vice President Matt Lounsbury says they’re not planning any other L.A. cafes, but a wholesale expansion is in the works. Evan Dohrmann, the former owner of North Portland’s Little Red Bike Cafe, is heading up that side of things, training baristas and wholesale clients in an adjacent roasting room.
