The Washington House passed the $10 billion transportation package that includes $450 million in bonds for the Columbia River Crossing.

But scenarios aren’t promising for the $3.4 billion highway, bridge and light-rail complex designed to replace the Interstate 5 span between Portland and Vancouver.

The transport package containing $450 million in bonds for the CRC goes to Washington’s Senate. That chamber is dominated by conservative legislators hostile toward a measure that would raise gas taxes by 10.5 cents.
