Lattice Semiconductor is putting its Hillsboro headquarters up for sale and searching for smaller offices.

Lattice was among a host of pioneering Oregon computer chip companies that gave the Silicon Forest its name, and sales topped half-a-billion dollars in 2000. But the company fell into a long dry spell and is now seeking a niche market in programmable computer chips.

Revenues last year were a little under $280 million, down 12 percent from the prior year.
