The Department of Energy named Bill Drummond as the new administrator of the Bonneville Power Administration.

Bill Drummond, who is currently BPA’s deputy administrator, will move into the top job when Steve Wright retires at the end of January.

Drummond has been deputy administrator since October 2011. Prior to joining BPA, Drummond was manager of the Western Montana Electric Generating and Transmission Cooperative, where he spent 17 years. He has also served on many regional energy task forces, including the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance and the Northwest Wind Integration Forum.
