Eugene-based Western Shelter Systems makes portable tent shelters to help everyone from aid workers to military command posts.

The bulk of its revenues come from tent shelters and the fittings that go with them — from lighting, heating and air conditioning systems to water purification systems, toilets and “gray water” storage bladders.

But the company added a second line in 1989, Crew Boss. Crew Boss makes clothing for firefighters and emergency responders as well as firefighter gear and products such as a decontamination shower.

A third line of products, Western Shelter Mobility Systems, was started in 2007. It produces customized trailers for emergency, commercial and military operations.
