Portland ranks third for clean technology leadership among U.S. metro areas.
Portland-based clean energy research firm Clean Edge ranked metro areas based on more than 20 factors such as number of certified green buildings, amount of cleantech venture capital investments and the purchase of hybrid vehicles.
The index research uncovered that while Portland may have the highest per capita rate of LEED-certified green buildings, Las Vegas earns the green-building crown for total LEED square footage per capita.
