The Oregon Department of Agriculture awarded more than $1.49 million in specialty crop grants.

The money is part of $55 million in grants awarded across the U.S., enough to fund 749 projects, according to the USDA. Individual states decide which projects will receive money.

The Oregon Hop Commission was awarded $46,958 to promote Oregon public hop varieties to Oregon craft brewers.
