Beaverton is preparing to launch a $2.4 million improvement to the Creekside District.
The area, dubbed by Metro as a “regional center,” has much potential for a more attractive, walkable neighborhood lined with shops and restaurants, city documents show.
A MAX light rail station anchors the middle. Beaverton Creek flows through the north end. The vacant 3.9-acre Westgate lot owned jointly by the city and Metro could be redeveloped. Eventually, people would have easy access to trails that run up and down the city.
The master plan weaves all these elements together with a focus on staying green, better roads and mixed-use housing.
