“I am very surprised. I am scrambling trying to figure out who else can mail my ballots,” said Polk County Clerk Valerie Unger.
Ballots are due to be mailed April 27 for the May 15 election.
Jerry Egger, president and general manager of Mid-Valley Presort, called Polk County on Tuesday afternoon and announced the shutdown, Unger said. Egger didn’t elaborate on his reasons.
