PORTLAND There’s more to a good elevator pitch than words per minute. It helps if your products speak for themselves. That was the key for the start-ups who won over investors in one minute or less at the recent Angel Oregon “elevator pitch” contest. The winners were Gadget Trak, Trellis Earth and UV Cleaning. Portland-based Gadget Trak combats “iCrime” (not to mention “i lost my phone again”) by installing software that enables owners to recover stolen laptops and lost mobile phones. Trellis Earth, also of Portland, makes biodegradable cups, bowls and bags. Beaverton-based UV Cleaning Systems develops purification systems to remove bacteria, molds and viruses from water and air. All three companies are up and running, and seeking investors.
