Gary Reynolds and Janice Marquis have resigned from the Metropolitan Exposition and Recreation Commission because of tension over David Woolson’s tenure. The two commissioners questioned how Metro Council President David Bragdon handled the issue of firing the commission’s chief executive.

Two members of the Metropolitan Exposition and Recreation Commission, which controls the Oregon Convention Center and other large facilities, have abruptly resigned, citing a conflict with Metro Council President David Bragdon over his attempts to oust MERC’s chief executive.

Accountant Gary Reynolds and retired property manager Janice Marquis on Tuesday said they were unhappy with public tension between Bragdon and MERC over the tenure of David Woolson, whom the MERC board supports, so they resigned.
