Another investor has nominated three new directors to Mentor Graphic’s board, adding to the three nominated by Carl Icahn last week.

This morning, minority investor Casablanca Capital nominated its chairman, Donald G. Drapkin, and two others to Mentor’s board.

With six outside directors now nominated for its board, Mentor could potentially face a takeover of its eight-member board by outsiders. In practice, however, it’s very difficult for activist investors to win a proxy fight.
