Portland’s downtown core is experiencing a multitude of openings, closings and expansions.

Sephora, Niketown and Apple are some of the big names planning on expanding.

Portland architect Bob Thompson said he’s been asked to design new, larger Niketowns in four U.S. cities, one of them in Portland.

Niketown was one of the original tenants pledged to go into the ground floor of TMT Development’s Park Avenue West office tower. Construction of the building was stalled by the economic crash.

TMT’s Vanessa Sturgeon said she doesn’t know what Nike’s plans are.
