Möbius Microfarms builds modular aquaponics systems and will launch a salad subscription service.

The Portland startup has already installed their growing system into homes and a few restaurants.

“Launching the microgreen subscriptions is an exciting step for us,” said [founder Anne] Phillip. “I have a vision of fresh food being grown in buildings around the city so people can have access to food grown only feet away from them.

“This would reduce the environmental costs of transporting produce, reduce food waste, conserve water and deliver more nutrients to people since they’d be harvesting their food right before they eat it. That’s the big picture motivation behind what we’re doing at Möbius.”

The company mirrors Volcano Veggies, of Bend, which is expanding as well. (Read about Volcano Veggies and Gro-volution — a modular aeroponics system — here.)
