BEND BULLETIN: An economic expert says Oregon’s growth is outpacing the United States’.
Mark Vitner, also a managing director with Wells Fargo, said Oregon showed a growth rate close to 4 percent last year on the strength of gains in employment, demand from the manufacturing sector and growth in its business and professional services sector, which includes high-tech services such as software development. During a conference call with clients and reporters, Vitner said Oregon showed employment gains in all sectors but one — natural resources and mining.
“Oregon has been outperforming both the nation and its own long-term growth trends,” he said.
