Always trust the numbers guy. That’s the consensus from our poll on the trustworthiness of business and political organizations. Readers put accountants at the top of the list, with 37% saying they trust CPAs “a lot” and 56% saying “somewhat.” Congressional representatives didn’t fare so well. None of our readers have “a lot” of faith in Congress; 57% don’t trust federal representatives at all. The daily newspaper fell smack in the middle of our list, with 53% of readers pledging allegiance to an institution often considered a dying breed. Research partner CFM Strategic Communications conducted the survey of 408 participants in August.
