In 2008, readers weren’t bullish on using digital technologies for business purposes. Less than 10% of respondents to an online survey had used Facebook or business networking sites in the previous six months. Five years later, that number has surged to about 40%, according to our latest poll.  A majority of present-day respondents also rate smartphones, email and websites as very important to their business. But Luddites, never fear: 70% consider the landline telephone very important, whereas only 3% hold Twitter in high regard. Research partner CFM Strategic Communications conducted the survey of 450 readers in March.
