The former Panel Products plywood plant in Rogue River is set to reopen following its $3.6 million purchase by Murphy Co.

The company plans to reopen it “as soon as practically possible” and bring 135 jobs to the area.

That will give an economic boost to the small Jackson County town of Rogue River, as well as surrounding communities, economic development officials said.

From a municipal and jobs standpoint, that plant “is very important to the city of Rogue River,” said Larry Holzgang, a state business development officer.
