Nearly 700,000 people in the United States are currently living with a primary brain tumor, and roughly 69,000 more will be diagnosed this year. The Portland Brain Tumor Walk works to raise awareness and resources in order to help fund programs aimed to fight and cure brain tumors. In doing so, the event offers an opportunity for friends and family to honor or remember those affected by brain tumors, connect with others passionate about the cause and to help educate the community.
Portland, OR – On Saturday morning of August 1st a group of Bullard Law staff and attorneys joined the 10th Annual Portland Brain Tumor Walk, hosted by the National Brain Tumor Society. Nearly 700,000 people in the United States are currently living with a primary brain tumor, and roughly 69,000 more will be diagnosed this year. The Portland Brain Tumor Walk works to raise awareness and resources in order to help fund programs aimed to fight and cure brain tumors. In doing so, the event offers an opportunity for friends and family to honor or remember those affected by brain tumors, connect with others passionate about the cause and to help educate the community.
The National Brain Tumor Society is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the cause of brain tumors. Their mission is ultimately to build enough awareness, support and resources to find better treatments for brain tumors, and hopefully a cure. Some ways in which they do so include funding therapeutic research initiatives, advocating for government programs and policies regarding strengthening research and improving access to health care services, as well as by providing online information and resources to the brain tumor community.
Bullard Law is a proud sponsor and supporter of the Annual Portland Brain Tumor Walk, and was humbled to partake in such a wonderful event. The goal of the event was to raise $110,000, and now as a result of Saturday’s efforts $98,369.50 in funding has been reached. It was a great success!
