Hernandez has served as on the Chamber’s Board since 2011. He has been involved in a variety of initiatives, including programs to expand opportunities for Hispanic businesses, efforts to create economic and social partnerships in the community, and scholarship opportunities for local Hispanic students.

Hernandez is currently serving a tour of duty in Afghanistan with the Oregon Army National Guard, so Barran Liebman’s Managing Partner, Ed Harnden, accepted the award on his behalf. Accepting the award at the Chamber’s Annual Membership Luncheon on Tuesday, he said, “when he learned about this award, Sam expressed to me how honored he was to receive it. One of the highlights of his career thus far has been the opportunity to serve the Hispanic community (and in particular the business community) through his work at the firm, and with the Chamber.”

In addition to the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber, Hernandez has also spent time on the boards of the Oregon Hispanic Bar Association and the Latino Network. Barran Liebman could not be prouder of how he continues to shine in our community while serving our country abroad.
